Mash To The Marsh

The other weekend we were planning a ride but it kind of got rained out, plus I had something else on my plate. So in accordance with the coming of daylight saving this weekend we are going for a burn to the Hackney Marsh. The weather is not looking good but if its not cats and dogs meet Sunday the 30th, 1pm at the playground (green mounds or area behind) between Skinner St & Northampton Rd.

Critical Mass Wellington

Not a bicycle?

At what point is a bicycle not a bicycle?

Is this a bicycle?

Example 1.

Technically it's a quincycle.

I actually like this thing. It reminds me of a band Mark introduced me to that sounds like nerds falling down stairs with instruments:

Like one commenter ... um, commented: This band is the sickest shit since Mr Bungle you shitheads!

Example 2.
This looks like BMX, but the dude has no chain! Some of these folk even run front wheels front and back! Maybe I'm turning into some sort of farty retro grouch, but I can't see the difference between this and a scooter. Conclusion? The cycle bit is the important bit. Not pedaling not bicycle. Give this kid a freecoaster hub, because I only want to hate on him because he's waaaaaaaay better at BMX than me.

Custom Disc Wheels

This sort of thing gets me all excited. Mike Giant's customised disc wheel covers. I love the idea of customisable disc wheels. If anyone has any idea of how to make blank discs, please let me know!

Who's that bad cunt? My Vic Tunnel bombing get-up - it's toxic like Britney in there!

Something weird, something rad and something hot II

Technically, these could all come under the 'rad' category.

The best use of sand-cast bmx mag wheels ever.

Believe it or not this is actually the cover of a French BMX mag. Viva le France!

I JUST LOVE PURPLE

Check out this Kastan with some super nice mid school purple parts.....

Also I found this photo up on the Devon Hutchins site... cant go wrong with girls on bikes!

STEADY ROLLIN

If you haven't seen it yet the Steady Rollin crew have a blog up so check that out for all your Auckland based fixed gear fanatics! CLICK HERE

I love anodizing, especially purple and especially PMC parts!!!!!!

Something weird, something rad and something hot.

Giant condom-bike, no helmet: This dude's got his priorities straight.

If all cars were as cool as this they'd almost be worth it - of course they'd be even more dangerous than they already are.

Heather Graham. D'you reckon she wants to part of our gang? I'll write her a letter.

Poke In The Eye

I know the hearing the word extreme on NBC sounds as much fun as a poke in the eye with one of these but i saw this little video today and thought it was refreshing and worth a mention.

Here are a few other tasty tid bits for your eyes from the boys over at FBM.

Were also planning a ride on Sunday (the 16th) so stay tuned.

HANDBUILT BIKE SHOW

I friend of mine gave me a bunch of photos from the hand built bike show in the U.S.A, I'm going to put a gallery up soon with all them because there was some pretty amazing bikes there, but for now check out a few photos below for a teaser.

Also now the Skull page is back up and running I guess its time to start posting photos of girls on bikes...........

Hataitai Velodrome

Yesturday I rode out to Hataitai velodrome for a bit of a burn. To get there I had to ride through the Mt Victoria Tunnel. I’d heard that it gets real toxic in the tunnel ‘cause of the exhaust fumes and that it can turn into a wind tunnel if the wind is from the east or west. It was pretty windy that day – it’s the first time I’ve been stoked not to have an aerospoke or disc wheel.
Worse than the fumes in the tunnel was the noise. There’s a kind of tradition that you toot your car horn as you drive through the tunnel – that tradition sux. The weirdest thing about the tunnel was how warm it got at about the half-way point. It was like seven or eight degrees warmer in the tunnel than outside.

The velodrome is at the top of a mammoth hill and it’s real steep and concrete. My bike is set up for commuting, so I’m waaaay under-geared for a proper velodrome, so I was almost pedal striking the whole way round.

After a couple of laps, I bombed back down the hill and rolled into Rogatai to the local bike shop, where I found this sweet S&M cap.

GETTING STARTED!!

Well it seems like things are starting to kick of on the all new SkullBikeClub web page.... For those of you that don't know what its about its a basically a site contributed to by a bunch of friends from around NZ and London who have an enthusiasm for all things bike related...... so yea.... enjoy!

For those freestyle 700cmxer's out there check out this banana's photo below... fixed 180 down a three.

I found this bike on bike guide and just it thought it looked super clean and was worth a post..... FBM Joint, speaking of FBM did any one know FBM have there own Fixed Gear Site, www.fbmfixed.com.

Oh no...

Who let me in here. Till I figure out what to post check out this sweet ride
.Holla.

WELCOME TO THE ALL NEW SKULLBIKECLUB WEBPAGE

I know it's been a super long time but I have finally got this shit back up and running with a new and improved site... I have to say I have missed posting random bike related stuff up here, I cant wait to get started again!

I have changed the site now so a bunch of people from NZ and London can post up here, so remember to check back regularly, where just getting started!

Roll on Roll on

Rad dudes! Thanks Mike for getting this rocking. Stay tuned.
