Long time no post
Hey Dudes. Merry Xmas! Sorry I havent posted in ages. Ive been working 7days a week for a while. Will be posting more regularly from next week I hope.
Well heres some pics of bikes I liked the look of from my trip to New York. There's loads of great trash bikes and delivery bikes with huge baskets. Went to as many bike shops as I could find aswell. Bike Works had some great stuff in the window.Check out this truing stand!! 3 Bar fixed. Heres the hire bike, Sweet! Really nice guys and a great shop. Also ran into Bike Blogger Prolly, nice guy too! With a really nice merckx We went for a nice ride up from where we were staying in the lower east side up to Central Park, around it and down a nice cycle lane all the way down along side the Hudson. For Halloween we went to Ottos shrunken Head Tiki Bar. Its a Rad as Bar and made me want to open a tiki bar in AK or maybe waiheke. Mexican Death Metal. The party was rad. New York takes Halloween seriously and EVERYONE is dressed up in the raddest costumes. Its definitely worth planning a trip around. Rebuttal..BOOZE CRUISE
About a dozen people came out on Saturday to drink beer and mooch about in the sun.
Rob Algie Kos Cruising down K'Rd, beer in hand. Brian roosting it at Tole St Bowl. Yep, it was casual - couldn't even get doods to turn around for a group shot. Conrad bought the Chappy out as a support vehicle. Not only was it equipped with sounds, but it had it's own BBQ! After Tole St we did a break-neck run down past the Harbour Bridge to Vic Park. Rowan was contemplating getting some air on the Chappy, but thought better of it. *************************************************************************************** BIKE CHECK: 1981 LAGUNA SUPER CRUISER I know I've posted this up before, but I rebuilt it with some new parts for the Booze Cruise, so I thought I'd chuck it on and do a parts run down. There's some debate about what makes the ultimate Booze Cruise bike, but my vote is for the 26 cruiser. FRAME: 1981 Laguna Super Cruiser, cromoly FORK: Some generic 26" BMX fork WHEELS: Gold Araya 7X rims laced to Shimano coaster brake (rear) and gold Suzue BMX hub (front), blue Tioga comp3 copy tyres. CRANKS: Bullseye with gold Sugino sprocket and gold chainring bolts. PEDALS: Suntour BMX SEAT, SEAT POST, SEAT CLAMP: Brooks B17, Gold fluted post, Tufneck style clamp. BARS, STEM: Chrome beach cruiser bars, Mongoose stem. STICKERS, SUMMER, BEACH CRICKETGood fella Brendan of BrokenInk made up some Mark Skulls designed stickers for us. The Freestyler and Skull Bike Club ones are perfect for downtubes and have a black backing sticker. Some assembly required, but they look rad when put together. (Even better if you don't have a black bike). I've been fairly elusive recently and the odd person has been wondering what I get up to during the summer months. I was planing to do a day-in-the-life type thing of my typical summer Saturday, but I usually end up getting drunk and forgetting to take any photos. This is the only pic from my first attempt, a day that we raced yachts to a club in Te Atatu where I was keen to play beach cricket. |
